The crystal structure was designed to blur the lines between the public space of the street (here on Bloor) and the private space of the museum. Although some feel that the modern and deconstructivist diamond crystal design doesn't match the neo-romanesque style of the ROM's original design, I like the fusion of old and new and have gotten used to its bold presence on Bloor Street.
