It seems like people come in the store because they know Ben and want to talk with him about...well, just about everything (including books of course)! Having the time and expertise to be able to hand sell books may seem like an obvious advantage of an independent bookstore, but this doesn't diminish its tremendous importance in maintaining loyal customers who will continue to trust your judgment if they like your recommendations.
