Alissa York, winner of the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer, enjoyed her time in Pelham, taking a 20-minute side trip between readings to visit Niagara Falls for the very first time. She read from Effigy, set in Utah Territory in 1867. Effigy was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her latest book is Fauna.
