The fantastic Writers Community of Durham Region (WCDR) was founded in 1995 and has been growing rapidly since, currently boasting 350 members. Great news, WCDR is now able to hire a much-needed Project Administrator, thanks to a $58,300 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
“This grant comes at just the right time,” said WCDR President James Dewar. “We want to expand our services to create new local writers’ circles, offer new training workshops and keep up ongoing professional development opportunities, and this is beyond the scope of our already too-busy volunteer board. Having a Project Administrator will make it possible to do what we do best and reach a wider audience.”
