As fall colours start spreading throughout Ontario, we have another Weekly Roundup of Open Book: Toronto.

From Page to Silver Screen: The Toronto Public Library created a Semptember themed list of recommended books call "From Page to Silver Screen" in honour of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The list is composed of books that have been made into movies. For more information, visit here.

It was announced that Erin Shields is the Open Book: Toronto's October 2012 Writer in Residence! Erin is here to answer your writerly questions! This week, the 2011 Lane Anderson Award were announced. This annual award honours two books (selected by jury) in two categories, adult and young reader, written by Canadians on a scientific subject. Winners receive $10,000 each. The winners for the 2011 prize are:
Adult: The Atlantic Coast: A Natural History by Harry Thurston (Greystone Books).
Young Adult: Nowhere Else on Earth: Standing Tall for the Great Bear Rainforest by Caitlyn Vernon (Orca Book Publishers).
