A handful of authors were presented with a number of B.C. Book Prizes in Vancouver last weekend.

The awards and winners are:

The Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize

  • Half-Blood Blues (Thomas Allen Publishers) by Esi Edugyan
  • Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize

  • Eating Dirt: Deep Forests, Big Timber, and Life with the Tree-Planting Tribe (Greystone Books) by Charlotte Gill
  • Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize and the Bill Duthie Booksellers? Choice Award

  • The Chuck Davis History of Metropolitan Vancouver (Harbour Publishing) by Chuck Davis
  • Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize

  • crawlspace (Harbour) by John Pass
  • Christie Harris Illustrated Children?s Literature Prize

  • When I Was Small (Simply Read Books) Sara O?Leary; Julie Morstad, illus.
  • Sheila A. Egoff Children?s Literature Prize

  • Blood Red Road (Doubleday Canada) by Moira Young
