The Kingston WritersFest is one of the most highly anticipated and well regarded festivals on the Canadian literary scene. First launched in 2006, it was expanded and improved in 2009 by a group of bibliophiles dedicated to bringing an exciting, dynamic and thought-provoking program to this book-loving city.

The Kingston WritersFest has welcomed international authors such as J.M. Coetzee and Joyce Carol Oates, as well as a roster of our best Canadian writers that includes Michael Ondaatje, Jane Urquhart, Joseph Boyden, Karen Connelly, David Adams Richards, Margaret Atwood and Andrew Pyper. Throughout the September weekend of the festival, guests attend readings, writing workshops, panel discussions and musical performances.
